Before this next kiddo arrives (one month from tomorrow is the scheduled date), I've been trying to take James out and about doing as many "fun things" as possible.
Of course, it occurred to me the other day that this idea could totally backfire and when the new baby does get here, he'll be so used to going out that he'll have an even harder time when we can't go anywhere.
Oh-well. I suppose he'll survive either way.
(Side story: telling James if he wants to do "fun things" he had better do x, y, or z has been our lifesaver. It doesn't matter if we explain what that "fun thing" is or not. If he wants to do "fun things" he has to obey. He usually complies without question.).
Anyway, so one of those "fun things" is going to the play place at the local mall. He loves it there but sometimes gets a little too rambunctious. Case in point: trying to climb UP the slide rather than go down it and then slipping half way up and biting through his upper lip. I always think I'm being so nice and then something like this happens. Poor kid . . .
I still have a scar from biting through my lip when I was younger. It just means you know how to have a good time.
ReplyDeleteOh, that kills me! It reminds me of a picture of you when you were a little kid and you got a fat lip (I don't remember why). I bet mom could find it and you could compare. Poor kid. I'm excited to see him in 2 days.
ReplyDeleteOuch! That's a doozy. You're such a good mom... I'll have to do start applying the "fun things" concept to our days before our baby comes!
ReplyDeleteOh my!!! Poor guy! His definitely beats P's! I hope he's feeling better - and you're a much better mom than me. At 1 month until number 2, I was very content to stay at home!!!
ReplyDeletefrom Lorena: Ouch! Did the tooth actually go all the way through the lip? Yikes.
ReplyDeleteHey - you'll be fine when the baby comes. It's like two waves - sometimes the two converge at the peaks and you have some truly hectic moments, and sometimes they converge at the bottom and you have some truly peaceful, lovely moments. And then it's mostly the stuff in between. Having two kids is wonderful. Just like having your first baby, you'll adjust to the new life (so will James) and it will be wonderful. I think I actually enjoy having two more than one. Or at least that is what I have tricked myself into believing.
Oh no!!! That looks painful! Poor little guy. I'm sure it was worth it to him though! Eliza loves that place too. It's nice to have. Especially on a rainy/cold day. Hope his lip feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteBrittany's fat lip was caused by the neighbor girl picking her up and running with her. She dropped Brittany & her tooth went thru her lip and YES it reminds me of the same photo...poor little boy! Kiss him for me.
ReplyDeletePoor James! I have to admit that I am having a hard time looking at his lip...I don't handle blood well. Good thing I'm married to a MD, I guess, so that he can deal with any mishaps in this house!
