James is really good at recognizing that every verb has a past tense. The problem is he thinks attaching an "-ed" on the end of every word does the trick:
"Oops, I falled."
"I gived her a kiss."
"Mom, look I dood it!" (did it)
"I runned to the potty."
I almost always correct him but it's kinda cute (for now, anyway).
Here are some of my other favorite Jameisms lately:
Brian sat down by James on the couch one morning and yawned really
big. James freaked out and jumped off the couch yelling "Nooooo! Don't
eat me!!!"
He's very into using a straw for
everything and especially loves blowing bubbles into cups. He thinks the bubble blowing is the
key to everyone's happiness and likes to test out this theory by saying
"Mom, can you be sad?" Then he waits for me to frown and pretend I'm
sad before he proceeds. Then the bubble blowing starts and all the while
he is peering at me out of the corner of his eye to make sure I'm
laughing or smiling. When he's done he'll stop and ask "There! Did that
make you happy?" or "Now you are happy!"
James has become quite the animated and comical storyteller. He likes to use his hands to talk and starts almost every story with "So" and every new sentence transitions with an "And so." For example, "So I think Grandpa and Michael are going to come visit me. And so they will get on an airplane. And so we will see them at church. And so I will be SO happy!" (Hint, hint Rob and Lorena, James has been talking an awful lot about seeing Michael these days and not all of us will be in Utah this summer).
Dang, that boy looks stylish...that can balance out his struggling grammar at the moment. :)
ReplyDeleteHe sure looks like a stud in that argyle vest! I miss him! And I guess you better get yourself to Utah this summer. Sounds like it's going to be a party there. Maybe I'll join you.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA, James! Come and play with us please!!!
